The Lord blessed us with another nice day. It had been raining heavily just prior to the "Stand for Life" but during that 1 hour the rains were held back. There was again a group of about 85 people who faithfully stood to proclaim the value of life!

We never know, from year to year, what the weather will be like on any given day in Humboldt County. We were able to celebrate under blue skies and in warm weather. It was a blessed time!

It was pouring down rain, the wind was blowing, it was cold, and it began to hail; all while approximately 85 people stood for 1 hour at the Humboldt County Courthouse during the Stand for Life! There was no question they wanted to be there!

Stand for Life - 2009
Every October local churches organize a "Life Chain" which is held on Broadway in front of the Bayshore Mall. During this 1-hour event, participants pray for an end to abortion.
Last year, the Pregnancy Care Center felt led to hold a similar event on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday which is held in January near the date the Supreme Court legalized abortion through the landmark decision, Roe vs Wade. This year's event was called "Stand for Life" and was held at the Humboldt County Courthouse. The focus of this time was to pray for our nation and its leaders. Until our hearts become aligned with God's heart, abortion will continue. With the presidential inauguration just two days later, it seemed more than appropriate.
